Operating procedure during a storage system failure (nonvolatile) at the primary site
and remote site 1
Failover
If a nonvolatile storage system failure occurs at the primary site and remote site 1, perform the
same failover procedure as the one used when a volatile storage system failure occurs at those
sites. See “Failover” (page 373) in “Operating procedure during a storage system failure (volatile)
at the primary site and remote site 1” (page 373).
Failback
If a nonvolatile storage system failure occurs at the primary site and remote site 1, perform the
same failback procedure as the one used when a volatile storage system failure occurs at those
sites. For details, see “Failback” (page 374) in “Operating procedure during a storage system failure
(volatile) at the primary site and remote site 1” (page 373).
In step 3, however, you do not have to register the journal group, and execute the YKRESYNC
command instead of the YKMAKE command.
Operating procedure during a storage system failure (volatile) at remote site 1 or 2
The following are the procedures that must be performed when a volatile storage system failure
occurs at remote site 1 or 2.
The procedure below applies when a storage system failure occurs at remote site 1. If a storage
system failure occurs at remote site 2, replace remote site 1 with remote site 2 in the procedure.
Preparing
No action is required.
Recovering
