Operating procedure during a primary site storage system failure (nonvolatile)
Failover
If a nonvolatile failure occurs in the primary site storage system, perform the same failover procedure
as the one used when a volatile failure occurs in the primary site storage system. See “Failover”
(page 368) in “Operating procedure during a primary site storage system failure (volatile)” (page 368).
Failback
If a nonvolatile failure occurs in the primary site storage system, perform the same failback procedure
as the one used when a volatile failure occurs in the primary site storage system. See “Failback”
(page 369) in “Operating procedure during a primary site storage system failure (volatile)” (page 368).
Operating procedure during a storage system failure (volatile) at the primary site and
remote site 1
The following are the procedures that must be performed when a volatile storage system failure
occurs at the primary site and remote site 1.
Failover
1. From remote site 2, execute the YKSUSPND REVERSE command for the Continuous Access
Journal Z copy pair between the primary site and remote site 2.
• YKQUERY
• YKSUSPND REVERSE
• YKEWAIT GOTO(SUSPEND) NOINVALIDCHECK
2. Start operation at remote site 2.
