Operating procedure during an intermediate site storage system failure (volatile)
The following are the procedures that must be performed when a volatile failure occurs in the
intermediate site storage system.
Preparing
1. From the remote site, execute the YKRECVER command for the Continuous Access Journal Z
copy pair between the intermediate site and the remote site.
• YKQUERY
• YKRECVER
• YKEWAIT GOTO(SIMPLEX) NOINVALIDCHECK
2. From the primary site, execute the YKMAKE command for the Continuous Access Journal Z
copy pair between the primary site and the remote site.
• YKQUERY
• YKMAKE
• YKEWAIT GOTO(DUPLEX)
Operation in a 2DC configuration starts from the primary site.
Recovering
1. Recover the intermediate site storage system from the failure.
