HP XP P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software User Guide (T5253-96081, July 2013)
Using an Open/MF consistency group
For an Open/MF consistency group, you can simultaneously suspend open system and mainframe
system copy groups. This enables you to maintain consistency between the open system and
mainframe system copy groups in the consistency group when a failure occurs or planned outage
is performed at the primary site.
Operating an Open/MF consistency group
“Operations that can be performed on an Open/MF consistency group” (page 319) lists operations
that can be performed by Business Continuity Manager on an Open/MF consistency group.

If the executed suspend command reverses the copy direction, this command only supports Business Continuity Manager
copy groups.
Figure 118 (page 319) shows the command coverage for commands other than the suspend
command.

Group That Has the Consistency Attribute
When you perform the suspend operation from Business Continuity Manager, the Business Continuity
Manager copy groups are subject to the operation, but open system copy groups that are not in
the same consistency group are not subject to the operation.
