9 Troubleshooting
This chapter provides Cnt Ac-S Z troubleshooting information.
Error codes and messages
Remote Web Console displays messages when error conditions occur during Cnt Ac-S Z operations.
The message describes the error and provides a part code and error code.
The error message may also include an XP P9500 error code. You may need to contact HP for
assistance. See the HP XP P9000 Remote Web Console Messages guide for a list of the error
codes.
General troubleshooting
The following table provides a list of general errors.
For troubleshooting information about PPRC and P/DAS operations, please refer to the IBM PPRC
and P/DAS user documentation: Planning for IBM Remote Copy (SG24–2595), Advanced Copy
Services (SC35 0355), and DFSMS MVS V1 Remote Copy Guide and Reference (SC35 0169).
Corrective actionError
The Remote Web Console computer hangs, or
Cnt Ac-S Z operations do not function properly.
Make sure that the problem is not being caused by the PC or
Ethernet hardware or software, and restart the PC. Restarting the
Remote Web Console computer does not affect storage system
operations.
Make sure that all Cnt Ac-S Z requirements and restrictions are
met (for example, Track format, LVI, VOLSER, DFW.
Make sure that the main and remote system and data paths are
powered on and fully operational (NVS, cache).
Check all input values and parameters to make sure that you
entered the correct information about the Remote Web Console
computer (for example, remote system S/N and ID, path
parameters, P-VOL and S-VOL IDs).
Contact HP for assistance.An initiator channel-enabled LED indicator (on
the XP P9500 control panel) is off or flashing.
Make sure that the correct CU is selected.The pairs and/or remote systems are not
displaying correctly.
Resolve the error, and then try the Cnt Ac-S Z operation again.A Cnt Ac-S Z error message is displayed on the
PC.
Make sure that the problem is not the PC or LAN hardware or
software. Try restarting the PC and reconnecting to the storage
system.
There is a problem with the Remote Web Console
or Cnt Ac-S Z software.
Check the path status (RCU Status dialog box), and see “SSB2 error
codes when SSB1 = 2E31/B901/B90A/B90B/B912/D004”
(page 94).
The remote system path status is not normal.
See “SSB2=B992 error codes when SSB1 = B901 or B90A
(page 102).
Pair status is Suspend (pair suspended-error).
Because the time setting of SVP is changed, the monitoring data
might not be updated. Disable Monitoring Switch, then enable again.
Monitoring data is not updated though the
Monitoring Switch option is set to Enable.
