Supported data path configurations
The remote data path can be configured using one of the following connection types. For a switch
connection, you must set the port to Fabric on, Point-to-Point (F-port).
Direct connection, as shown in Figure 10 (page 49). Direct connection (loop only) is a direct
link between the local and remote arrays. NL-port (Node Loop) connections are supported for
the data path and host-to-system path.
Switch connection, as shown in Figure 11 (page 50). Switch connections push data from the
local switch through a fibre-channel link across a WAN to the remote switch and fibre channel
of the remote system. F-port (point-to-point) and FL-port (loop) switch connections are supported.
Extender connection, as shown in Figure 12 (page 50). Make sure that your channel extenders
are can support remote I/O. For further details, contact your HP account team.
