HP XP P9000 Business Copy for Mainframe Systems User Guide (AV400-96572, July 2013)

Because BC Z and Cnt Ac-S Z support PPRC, a failure to meet these requirements could result in
a PPRC command executed on a Cnt Ac-S Z pairs instead.
Preparing the system with PSF and DEVSERV
PSF commands (perform storage system function) enable PPRC commands and user requests in the
storage system. The following table shows how PSF commands interact with BC Z pair.
Table 9 How PSF commands operate with BC Z
InteractionItem
See the following table.Device pair status
Not available for BC Z because the differential bitmap format is different
than Cnt Ac-S Z’s.
Rate of synchronization
Shows information for the pair whose S-VOL has the lowest LDEV ID.Primary volume with 2 or more S-VOLs
Active.Path status
If the volume does not also belong to a Cnt Ac-S Z pair, 1 is shown with
Cnt Ac-S Z information.

DEVSERV command example
Adding pairs with CESTPAIR and PPRCOPY ESTPAIR
Add pairs using the CESTPAIR and PPRCOPY ESTPAIR commands.
The commands are issued to the P-VOL.
The S-VOL must be offline.
Parameters and examples are provided in the following sections.
CESTPAIR
The following table describes the CESTPAIR command parameters used to create pairs.
