Primary site host failure (when operations can be performed on only one of the
Continuous Access Journal Z copy pairs)
Perform the procedures below when the host at the primary site fails and operations cannot be
performed on one of the Continuous Access Journal Z copy pairs.
The procedures below applies when you perform a failover to remote site 1. To perform a failover
to remote site 2, replace remote site 1 with remote site 2 and replace remote site 2 with remote
site 1 in the procedures.
Failover
1. From remote site 1, execute the YKSUSPND REVERSE command for the Continuous Access
Journal Z copy pair between the primary site and remote site 1.
• YKQUERY
• YKSUSPND REVERSE
• YKEWAIT GOTO(SUSPEND)
2. From remote site 1, execute the YKRESYNC REVERSE command for the Continuous Access
Journal Z copy pair between the primary site and remote site 1.
When the command is executed, the Continuous Access Journal Z copy pair between the
primary site and remote site 2 is automatically suspended.

• YKRESYNC REVERSE
• YKEWAIT GOTO(DUPLEX)
