Figure 120 Copy Group Operation Image
Initial Status
TCA copy group: SIMPLEX
BC Z copy group: SIMPLEX
By using copy groups in a 2DC configuration, backups of a large amount of data across multiple
volumes can be acquired remotely without interrupting operation. This allows data to be restored
even if a disaster has affected the primary site.
Creating a Copy Group
The following explains operation procedures based on the copy group operation diagram shown
in Figure 120 (page 316). The procedure for making the copy groups is shown in Figure 121 (page
317). The numbers in the following procedure correspond to those in Figure 121 (page 317).
To create a copy group is shown in Figure 120 (page 316).
1. Creating a Cnt Ac-J Z copy group (starting copy group operation).
Load the copy group definitions of Cnt Ac-J Z and BC Z by using the YKLOAD command, and
make sure that the status is SIMPLEX by using the YKQUERY command. Then make a Cnt Ac-J
Z copy group by using the YKMAKE command.
Wait until the status is DUPLEX, by using the YKEWAIT command.
2. Suspending a Cnt Ac-J Z copy group.
Put the Cnt Ac-J Z copy group in the suspend status, by using the YKSUSPND command.
