Creating the Data Exchange Volume Definition Files
The Data Exchange volume definition file contains the volume association parameters for the Data
Exchange volumes on the storage systems. This file must be created before you can use FCU or FAL
to access data on these volumes. The volume association parameters define the Data Exchange volume
by associating the volume serial number (VSN or volser) with the open-system device file for the same
logical volume. Table 37 on page 72 describes the Data Exchange volume association parameters.
Figure 28 on page 73 through Figure 35 on page 75 show the structure and contents of the Data
Exchange volume definition file for each supported platform.
