• HP StorageWorks Remote Web Console and LUN Manager software. LUN Manager enables the
user to configure FC ports and create custom-size LUs. For information on LUN Manager, see the
HP StorageWorks XP24000/XP20000 LUN Manager User’s Guide for the storage system.
• Mainframe operating systems: z/OS, S/390, MVS, z/VSE
• 2107, 2105, and 3990 CU emulations are supported.
• Open-system platforms and OS version levels:
• Supported OS and OS Versions, page 38 specifies the OS version support for Data Exchange
(32-bit and 64-bit).
• Superuser (root) login access to the open-system server/workstation is required.
NOTE:
• For Data Exchange versions earlier than 01-XX-50, Multiple Volume Dataset is not supported.
When a dataset spans multiple volumes, only the portion of the dataset in one volume will be
processed. For Data Exchange versions 01-XX-50 and later, Multiple Volume Dataset is supported
only for FXmto.
• For 64-bit FAL, set the HBA that supports 64-bit to the server. IBM AIX systems support 64-bit FAL.

64-bit Version FCU
Data Exchange supports the 64-bit version FCU. The application method is the same as for the 32-bit
version FCU. The 64-bit version FCU does not support a GUI interface (Windows version supports a
GUI).
VSE Requirements and Restrictions
Data Exchange supports the VSE operating system. The following sections describe the supported
VSE versions that correspond to the storage systems and associated Data Exchange version.
