5 Configuration Definitions
This chapter describes the configuration definition procedures for managing replication packages
for multiple data center configurations. First, prepare the hardware and software at each site.
Next, after establishing logical paths and defining the Remote DKC Control Function, register
command devices, and then create a copy group. For details on how to operate the ISPF panels,

Defining a 2DC configuration
This section explains how to define a 2DC configuration with one storage system installed at each
site. For background information about these operations (such as logical path establishment, route
list definition, command device registration, and remote scans), see “Preparing to use Business
Continuity Manager” (page 99). For details on how to perform these operations, see “Using the
ISPF panels” (page 430).
A 2DC configuration example
Figure 74 (page 127) shows an example of a required 2DC configuration. This figure assumes the
use of the Remote DKC Control Function.
