Table 64 Contents of the Scan Copy Pair Inside Storage System Panel (continued)
DescriptionItem
Two-digit serial numbers beginning with 00 are assigned in ascending
order to the copy group names specified by this parameter (for
example, 00, 01, 02...). You can specify a maximum of six characters
for a copy group name. Do not use hyphens. The initial display is
MYTCA.
Specify a BC copy group name.BC Copy Group ID
Two-digit serial numbers in ascending order beginning with 00 are
assigned to the copy group names specified by this parameter
(example: 00, 01, 02 ...). Use no more than 6 characters for the copy
group name. Hyphens cannot be specified. No initial value is
displayed.
Specify the Start and End of the device number range for scanning the
P-VOL of the PPRC copy pair, using hexadecimal numbers in ascending
order (required).
Device Num
NOTE: The device number range cannot be omitted. To scan only a
single volume, specify the same volume for Start and End.
When creating a CA copy group definition file, you can check whether
HyperSwap is enabled for the detected PPRC copy pair.
HS
If the search range contains both volumes for which HyperSwaps are
enabled and volumes for which HyperSwaps are not enabled, by
specifying CHECK, you can prevent PPRC copy pairs, for which
HyperSwaps are enabled, from being defined in the CA copy group
definition file.
If the search range does not contain volumes for which HyperSwap is
enabled, specify NOCHECK.
• CHECK: Acquires the UCB information (UCBHSWAP) of the P-VOLs
of the detected PPRC copy pairs, and checks whether HyperSwaps
are enabled. PPRC copy pairs for which UCBHSWAP is set to ON
are not defined in the CA copy group definition file.
• NOCHECK: Does not check whether HyperSwap is enabled for the
detected PPRC copy pairs. All detected copy pairs, even if
HyperSwaps are enabled for them, are defined as CA copy groups
without the HyperSwap attribute.
The initial display is NOCHECK.
Pressing the Enter key starts the background job for scanning the P-VOL.
The volumes within the range specified in Device Num are scanned. If an invalid character is
specified, or if the value specified for Start is greater than the value specified for End, an error
message prompts you to re-enter the values.
The values specified here are used during the execution of the background job. JCL uses a value
indicated in the “Set Defaults Panel (Prefix and DAD ID Settings)” (page 26).
Before executing a scan, create a disk configuration definition file for the search-target storage
system in the Discover HP Storage System panel.
When the background scanning job is completed, the configuration information for the scanned
copy pair is saved in the copy group definition file. A name that conforms to the value in
Configuration File Prefix, CA Copy Group ID, and TCA Copy Group ID or BC Copy Group ID in the
Set Defaults panel is assigned to the file using the following format:
prefix.GRP.ggggggnn
