The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat Monitor service is only essential for the working
of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat service. The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
Tomcat Monitor service monitors the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat service and restarts
the tomcat service if it stops. However, if HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat Monitor service
stops, it does not impact the functioning of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor.
Why is the host agent record still displayed in the Host Information table (Monitoring+Array
View+Host Information) even after it is removed from the host?
After you remove the host agent, the corresponding host agent record is still visible on the HP XP
P9000 Performance Advisor's Host Information screen. Perform the following steps to manually
remove the host agent record from the management station:
1. Click Monitoring+Array View in the left pane.
2. Click the Host Information tab.
3. Select the host agent record that should be removed from HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor.
4. Click Remove Host.
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor deletes the host agent record and logs a confirmation on
the Event Log screen.
When you remove a host agent, the data about the command devices that are exposed to its host
and the following data for the XP and P9000 disk arrays are also removed. You should initiate a
new configuration collection on the XP and P9000 disk arrays and also create, or configure the

Why am I not able to install the latest version of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor after removing
the existing version?
It can be due to traces of the existing version still remaining on the management station. Refer to
in the Troubleshooting section for the procedures on how to remove the existing versions completely
and restart the installations.
Why is UNIX host agent installing failing with JAVA not found error?
While installing a HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor UNIX host agent, the installation might fail
displaying the following error:
JAVA not found
The reason might be that the Path system variable on your host is not pointing to the location
where JRE is installed.
Complete the following steps to configure the Path system variable environment variable on your
host must point to the installed JRE location. To set the Java PATH, enter the following command
in the command prompt window:
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/java1.5/bin
You can verify whether the Path variable is updated by typing echo %path% in the command
prompt window. The output lists the paths that are set on your management station, and should
include %JAVA_HOME%\bin.
I have completed installing HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor on the management station, but I
am not seeing the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agent records
