Resolution: Before attempting to re-run the patch installer, stop the following services:
• Distributed Transaction Co-ordinator
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database Job Scheduler
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database VSS Writer
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Monitor
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Security
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat
NOTE: By default, the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database Job Scheduler service is
disabled.
Error message: The Oracle patch installer has determined that one or more files under the directory
<name of directory> are in use. For a list of all such files in the Oracle Base directory, refer
to the Oracle patch installer log file <MachineName>_<timestamp>_OraclePatch.log under
<log location>. The installation wizard will exit now. Ensure that you close all applications
holding the locked files before you rerun the installer.
The reason might be that the files in the Oracle Base directory are in use due to Performance
Advisor GUI being accessed either locally or remotely. It can also be because the Performance
Advisor and Oracle services are not having released files.
Resolution: Do the following:
1. Inspect the <MachineName>_<timestamp>_OraclePatch.log file.
2. Ensure that you close all applications holding the locked files before you re-run the Oracle
patch installer. Also, ensure that the Performance Advisor GUI is not in use.
To unlock the files, perform the following steps:
1. Stop the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat, Security, Monitor, Database, and
Database Listener services.
2. Stop MSDTC service.
3. If the files are still unlocked, use Process Explorer to identify the locked files.

Any service or application that is reported as locking the files should be stopped or closed
before executing the Oracle patch installer.
Error message: Unzipping the contents of the patch zip files. Please wait....
The Oracle patch installer hangs after displaying this message. It might occur if less than 2 GB
free disk space is available in the drive where you are trying to install the Oracle patch.
Resolution: Ensure that the drive pointed to by %temp% environment variable has at least 2 GB of
free disk space.
Error message: The unzip operation for the Oracle patch application for HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor Software failed. For more information, inspect the
<MachineName>_<timestamp>_OraclePatch.log located under <directory name>.
The installation wizard will exit now.
During the Oracle patch installation process, the unzip operation of the patch bundles might fail,
as less than 2 GB of free disk space is available on the drive pointed to by %temp% environment
variable.
