a. lsnrctl stop
b. lsnrctl start
6. Restart HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor.
Click Start+All Programs+HP Storage Works+Restart services.
7. Launch HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor and verify if the connection is established with the
Oracle database.
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Oracle Database and Performance Advisor
Tomcat services do not start on Windows 7 operating system
Cause
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Oracle Database and Performance Advisor Tomcat services
do not start on Windows 7 operating system, when the system is rebooted.
Resolution
Modify the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database recovery settings. To modify the HP XP
P9000 Performance Advisor Database recovery settings:
1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc in the Open field.
2. Right-click HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database service, and select Properties.
3. Click the Recovery tab.
4. Select Restart the Service for First failure, Second failure, and Subsequent failures.
5. Click Apply.
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database service initialization failure
The database service initialization fails with the following error message:
Database service may not be responding. Database Service initialization
failed.
Cause
The database service might have encountered a problem during start up of the database
The database service initialization fails after the operating system is restarted
Resolution
Verify the stdout.log file located at %HPSS_HOME%/pa/tomcat/logs for the following error
messages:

ERROR [com.hp.xpsl.datastore.DBConnect]: Check if the Database is
running. Please contact administrator or HP Support, if the exception
continues. Listener refused the connection with the following error:

ORA-12505, TNS: listener does not currently know of SID given in connect
descriptor. The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
xxxx:1521:PADB.

ERROR [com.hp.xpsl.datastore.DBConnect] Check if the Database is running.
Please contact administrator or HP Support, if the exception continues.
Listener refused the connection with the following error:

ORA-12528, TNS:listener: all appropriate instances are blocking new
