Upgrade to HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 fails
Cause
Presence of invalid registry keys due to which some HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5
features, that are already installed on the system, are identified as not installed.
Effect
The following issues are observed:
The upgrade process does not replace any files in the <Installation_Directory>.
Error messages are displayed while the database upgrade is in progress.
Database installation message is displayed during the upgrade process.
Resolution
Perform the following steps:
1. Take a backup of the HP XP P9000 Performance advisor database using the Backup utility.
2. Remove HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5 after the backup is complete.
3. Run the clean-up scripts and restart the system.
4. Install HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5, and then upgrade to HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor v5.5.1.

Cause
Occasionally, while upgrading from a supported version of Performance Advisor, the following
error message might be displayed during the installation or upgrade process.

Resolution
Complete the following steps to resolve this issue:
1. Click Start, click Run, type control admintools, and then click OK.
2. Double-click Local Security Policy.
3. Click Software Restriction Policies.
NOTE: If software restrictions are not listed, right-click Software Restriction Policies, and then
click Create New Policy to create a new policy.
4. Under Object Type, double-click Enforcement.
5. Click All users except local administrators, and then click OK.
6. Restart the computer.
Performance Advisor security and Tomcat services does not start after an installation
Cause
Troubleshooting installation issues 15
