HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener service does not start after
installation or upgrade
After installing or upgrading HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor, the HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor Database Listener service might not start automatically.
Cause
The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener service might not have started after an
upgrade. It can be due to an incorrect DNS name or a change in port number mentioned in the
listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files.
Resolution
Perform the steps listed to resolve the error:
Start the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener service manually by completing the
following steps:
1. Open the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files available in the following location:
%PADB_HOME%\oradb\ADMIN\NETWORK.
2. If an incorrect DNS name is specified, replace it with the correct DNS name of the management
station. If the problem persists, replace the DNS name with the IP address of the management
station.
If a different port number is specified, change the port number to 1521, as HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor uses port 1521 for the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database
Listener service.
3. Restart the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener service.
Go to Start Run and type services.msc. In the Services dialog box, verify that the HP XP
