HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5 Software Troubleshooting and FAQs Guide (T1789-96344, February 2013)
An incorrect management station DNS or IP address is specified in the host agent
paxp_service.properties file.
Resolution
Provide the correct DNS or IP address of the management station in the
paxp_service.properties host agent file by completing the following steps:
1. Edit the following field in the paxp_service.properties file and provide the correct DNS
or IP address of your management station:
ManagementStation.Hostname=<fully qualified domain name or IP
address>
• On a Windows host, the paxp_service.properties file is located in the
<Windows_Volume>:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\xppa\hostagent\
config folder.
If it is a custom Windows host agent installation, the file is located in the
<Installation_Drive>:\<Installation_Directory>\hostagent\config
folder.
• On a UNIX host, the paxp_service.properties file is located in the /opt/xppa/
hostagent/config folder.
• On an OpenVMS host, open the paxp_service.properties file from the
SYS$COMMON:[HEWLETTPACKARD.P9000HOSTSW.HOSTAGENT.LOG] folder.
Following is a sample paxp_service.properties file in which the
ManagementStation.Hostname shows 01.01.01.01 as the management station IP address:
#com.hp.xpsl.hostagent.HostAgent
######################################################################
ManagementStation.Hostname=01.01.01.01
2. Restart the host agent and real-time services.
3. Verify the IP Address or the hostname of the management station specified in the
paxp_services.properties file.
Cause
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor version is upgraded on the management station and the host
agents are not upgraded.
Resolution
Do the following:
1. After the upgrade, download the host agents from the Support screen of HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor and upgrade them on the respective hosts.
For a Linux host agent, remove the existing version of the host agent software from the Linux
hosts pointing to the management station before upgrading the management station version.
NOTE: Check the required version of RMLIB is installed.
2. Perform one round of configuration and then the performance data collections for the disk
arrays connected to these host agents.
3. Verify if the host agents are appearing in the Host Information table in HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor. Ensure that software versions of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
management station and the host agent are the same.
Cause
An incorrect port number is specified for HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor and host agent
communication. In such a case, the installation process completes but the Connection refused
error message appears when the host agent tries to establish connection with HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor.
