IMPORTANT:
• You must install JRE before installing HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents, except

• Starting Performance Advisor v5.5 release, you must have libstdc++ installed for Linux host
agents.
• You can install RPM from the RHEL operating system DVD, or download the RPM installation
file from the internet. In the RHEL v5.xx operating system DVD, the RPM installation file is
available in the Server folder. In the RHEL v6.xx operating system DVD, the RPM installation
file is available in the Packages folder.
Languages
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor is available in English language only.
New features
The following is a list of new features in P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0:
• P9000 Performance Advisor host agents support Solaris 11, SLES 11 SP2, Windows Server
2012 R2, RHEL 6 U4, and RHEL 5 U10.
• P9000 Performance Advisor management station supports Windows 2008 R2 SP1 in Simplified
Chinese.
• P9000 Performance Advisor can be upgraded from a patch or SSP (Site-Specific Patch).
Enhancements
The following is a list of enhancements in P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0:
• P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0 displays the array type along with the array serial number.
• The data collection mechanism is enhanced to support only the outband mode configuration
data collection.
• For performing search in the Host Group on the Charts and Alarms screens, you can include
the entire or partial host group name.
• The Auto Purge functionality is enhanced so that you can configure the Delete and Shrink
purge operations.
• Performance Advisor host agent and management station logs are enhanced to provide
descriptive log messages.
• Outband mode of configuration data collection supports configuring applications using WWNs.
Upgrading Performance Advisor
To upgrade to P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0, ensure that v5.4, v5.4.1, v5.5, or v5.5.1 is
installed on the management station and the respective host agents are installed on the host agents.

IMPORTANT: HP Support Center provides support to the current and previous two major releases
of the software. If you have installed an older version of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor, then
HP recommends that you upgrade it to a supported version, or to the latest version of the product.
