1 HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software v6.0 Release Notes This document describes the new features, enhancements, and fixes provided in the v6.0 release of the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor software. Description The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software (P9000 Performance Advisor) collects, monitors, and displays the in-depth performance data of XP and P9000 (P9500) disk arrays.
In addition, the support matrix includes the supported IE (Internet Explorer) and JRE (Java Runtime Environment) versions. IMPORTANT: • You must install JRE before installing HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents, except on Windows and OpenVMS. For more information on the supported JRE versions, see HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software OS Support Matrix available on the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software page. • Starting Performance Advisor v5.
Fixes P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0 includes the following defect fixes: • Intermittent RG performance data collection drops are observed. • Scheduled configuration data collection fails due to an invalid RMI session entry. • The HTTP connection is not established between the host agent and management station. The performance collection data does not get updated and gaps are observed in the data points in charts.
• In P9000 Performance Advisor Array View - CA screen, if the CA configurations have mirror IDs other than 0, the CA Journal volumes are not identified and displayed on the screen. Current Status—no ETA as of P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0 release date. • Incorrect data is read from the snapshots taken using the FastSnap feature in the HP XP P9500 disk arrays with firmware versions 70-05-02-00/00 to 70-05-14-00/00.
• When a manual purge or data archival process is active, occasionally, you might notice that the management station overlooks data samples received from the host agents. The purging may take hours to complete based on the database size. HP recommends that you stop the performance collection before starting the purge to overcome missing data points during purge. Current Status—This will be fixed in the subsequent release.
• P9000 Performance Advisor installation is not supported on domain controller in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows 7 platforms. Current Status—Fix is being investigated, no ETA as of P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0 release date. • In HP XP P9000Watch, the CA Journal, CA Sync/Async Metrics are not available in CLI mode. Current Status—Fix is being investigated, no ETA as of P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0 release date.
