HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.5.1 Release Notes (T1789-96349)
• Mainframe metrics are no longer supported in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 and
HP XP P9000Watch. Therefore, the Ficon and Escon ports are displayed as Not Supported.
If you configure alarms for these metrics in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5 and then
upgrade to v5.5.1, the configured alarms are removed.
• You must enable Legacy DSF in HP-UX 11i v3 for HP XP P9000Watch to function properly.
• In HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1, if you schedule the configuration data collection
and then modify the host configuration, the schedule configuration data collection fails, and
the following message might be logged in the PA.log file:
ERROR [com.hp.xpsl.service.ConfCollHelper] Config Collection:
Scheduled Config Collection failed for array <array serial
number>java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException:
Workaround: Delete and create a new configuration data collection schedule.
Current Status: This will be fixed in the subsequent release.
• In HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1, the Total IO/s – Frontend and Total MBs –
Frontend performance metrics are removed from the Host Group > Port node in Charts and
Alarms. If you configure alarms for these performance metrics in HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor v5.5 and then upgrade to v5.5.1, the configured alarms are removed.
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 does not support HP Operations Agents.
• In Inband configuration collection, some LDEVs which are a part of snapshot pair is displayed
as SMPL instead of PVOL in LDEV screen. As a workaround, see the Charts screen to verify
whether the LDEV is a PVOL or not. This issue will be fixed in a subsequent release of the HP
XP P9000 Performance Advisor.
• Save favorite charts for Frontend IO metrics at host group level does not work in v5.3.
Therefore, loading the saved charts does not work after upgrade from v5.3 to higher versions
(v5.4 or v5.5). As a workaround, to view the favorite charts, save the chart again after
upgrading to v5.4 or v5.5.
• Oracle does not support Windows Server 2012. When Oracle supports Windows Server
2012, XP PA will claim support for Windows Server 2012 and the same will be updated in
the SPOCK.
• The CPU utilization of Host Agent services is very high during a performance collection if the
number of LDEVs is more than 25000.
• The Edit option in the View Reports screen does not work properly if multiple reports are
selected for editing.
Workaround: Select one report at a time and edit the reports individually. You will have to
recreate the report each time while editing since the values provided earlier may not be
populated in the Create/Schedule Report screen.
Current Status: This will be fixed in the subsequent release.
• HP XP P9000Watch and CLUI are not supported on an OpenVMS Integrity Server (IA-64)
host.
Current Status: Fix is being investigated, no ETA as of P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1
release date.
• The Show the Windows Installer Log check box is non-functional.
Workaround: To view the PA_Install.log file, go to <system_drive>:\
P9000_PA_Install_Log path, where <system_drive> refers to the drive on which the
operating system is installed.
Current Status: Fix is being investigated, no ETA as of P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1
release date.
