HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.5.1 Release Notes (T1789-96349)

NOTE:
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 supports all hard disks that are supported by XP
and P9000 (P9500) disk arrays. HP recommends that you install or upgrade to the latest
RMLIB version to obtain the new features.
• In HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1, the outband mode of configuration data collection
works with firmware versions from 70-05-02-00/00 to 70-06-01-00/00. However, if you
upgrade the firmware to a version later than 70-06-01-00/00, then the outband mode of
configuration data collection might fail. Thus, use the inband mode of configuration data
collection.
Operating systems and JRE requirements
The list of operating systems supported by the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor management
station and host systems is included in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software OS Support
Matrix available on the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software page.
In addition, the support matrix includes the supported Internet Explorer (IE) and Java Runtime
Environment (JRE) versions.
IMPORTANT:
• You must install JRE before installing HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents, except
on Windows and OpenVMS. The minimum JRE version required is v1.6.
• Starting Performance Advisor v5.5 release, you must have libstdc++ installed for Linux host
agents.
• You can install RPM from the RHEL operating system DVD, or download the RPM installation
file from the internet. In the RHEL v5.xx operating system DVD, the RPM installation file is
available in the Server folder. In the RHEL v6.xx operating system DVD, the RPM installation
file is available in the Packages folder.
Languages
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor is available in English language only.
New features
The following is a list of new features in the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1:
• Support to allow the users to configure the Pair Status Alarm, view additional CTG performance
data, CA Journal data, and CA Journal volumes data.
• Support to allow the users to view smart pool related details such as, Tier Relocation Progress
Rate, Max IOPH Processed, % of the Tier Configured, and Average Read and Write Response
Time.
• HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 is supported on Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 and
Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 SP1 operating systems that are installed in Japanese language.
However, the information that you enter, which gets displayed on the screen is in English
language.
• The Oracle patch installer provided with HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 includes
the latest Critical Patch Update (CPU) released by Oracle in July 2013. This patch includes
all fixes provided in the earlier patch releases.
