1 HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.5.1 Release Notes This document describes the new features, enhancements, and fixes provided in the v5.5.1 release of the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor software. Description The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software (P9000 Performance Advisor) collects, monitors, and displays the in-depth performance data of XP and P9000 (P9500) disk arrays.
NOTE: • HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 supports all hard disks that are supported by XP and P9000 (P9500) disk arrays. HP recommends that you install or upgrade to the latest RMLIB version to obtain the new features. • In HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1, the outband mode of configuration data collection works with firmware versions from 70-05-02-00/00 to 70-06-01-00/00.
Enhancements The following is a list of enhancements in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1: • HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 has been upgraded with Tomcat v7.0.40. • Reports are optimized for improved performance. The individual CHIPs are removed from the All report. In addition, while generating CHIP Utilization reports, you can select multiple CHIPs from the Available CHIPs list. • The LDEV IO section in the Host Group reports displays backend and frontend metrics.
• While searching for a host group in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5, all host groups are displayed in the search results. The host group that you searched for is not highlighted. • Alarms related to CLPR in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.4 and earlier are unavailable in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5. • If you split common components, such as RAID group and Port, across multiple performance data collection schedules in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.
• Mainframe metrics are no longer supported in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 and HP XP P9000Watch. Therefore, the Ficon and Escon ports are displayed as Not Supported. If you configure alarms for these metrics in HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5 and then upgrade to v5.5.1, the configured alarms are removed. • You must enable Legacy DSF in HP-UX 11i v3 for HP XP P9000Watch to function properly. • In HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.
• Real-time charts and historical charts cannot be plotted simultaneously, as the plotting of real-time data stops when the plotting of historical data is in progress. In such a case, the following error message appears on the Charts screen: The selected component may no longer be connected to the array or does not have any activity happening currently. Please verify if the selected component is currently active.
• An error log is displayed on the console of the AIX host agent in the following conditions: ◦ HP XP P9000Watch is active on Advanced Interactive eXecutive (AIX) v6.1. ◦ Multi-pathing (MPIO) is enabled on the AIX host agent. ◦ Parameters, dyntrk is set to yes and fc_error is set to fast_fail. The error log is also displayed when you run the errpt –a command from the Kernel of the AIX operating system.
• You cannot plot multiple charts simultaneously at the Custom Group level charts. You must plot one chart at a time. Current Status: Fix is being investigated, no ETA as of P9000 Performance Advisor v5.5.1 release date. • HP XP P9000Watch and RealTime does not support THP Pool, Smart Pool, BC, Snapshots, and External RG’s. Current Status: This will be fixed in the subsequent release.
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor supported versions statement HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor supports the current version and its two immediate previous versions. The oldest supported version of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor is v5.3. Customers on older versions must upgrade to v5.3 or later version. All earlier versions of HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor will be inactive.
