1 Description The HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software (P9000 Performance Advisor) collects, monitors, and displays the in-depth performance data of XP and P9000 (P9500) disk arrays, so that you can monitor the performance and utilization of components, such as the Logical Device (LDEV), Client-Host Interface Processor (CHIP) or Channel Adapter (CHA), Array Control Processor (ACP) or Disk Adapter (DKA), Disk Controller (DKC), or the MP blades.
XP and P9000 disk arrays Minimum firmware version P9000/XP RAID Manager Library (RMLIB) (P9000, XP24000, XP12000, XP10000, and SVS200) 1.16.02 or later NOTE: P9000 Performance Advisor v5.4 supports all the hard disks that are supported by XP and P9000 (P9500) disk arrays. HP recommends that you should install or upgrade the latest RMLIB version to obtain new features.
Enhancements P9000 Performance Advisor v5.4 includes the following enhancements: • • • • • • • • • • • Each report includes the 50th, 90th, and 95th percentile values as legends in the charts. Storage Optimizer tool enhancements are incorporated into Performance Advisor PET. Improved user interface is available for Alarms and Charts screens. • Cache Write Pending MB • Cache Side File Usage MB • Cache Write Pending Util • Cache Side File Usage Util Workaround: View the Cache related metrics for an XP1024/128 Disk Array on the Performance View and Summary View screens. Current Status: This will be fixed in the subsequent release. • Real-time charts and historical charts cannot be plotted simultaneously, as the plotting of real-time data stops when the plotting of historical data is in progress.
The purging may take hours to complete based on the database size. HP recommends that you stop the performance collection before starting the purge to overcome missing data points during purge. Current Status: This will be fixed in the subsequent release. • For XP/P9500 disk arrays with concatenated parity groups, you might notice 4D+4D RAID type instead of two 2D+2D concatenated parity groups in the Performance Estimator screen.
• The P9000Watch Linux x86_64 binary is meant only for RHEL 6.1 x86_64. For all other Linux x86_64 distributions, use P9000Watch Linux binary. Current Status: Fix is being investigated, no ETA as of P9000 Performance Advisor v5.4 release date. • If Apex controller is already installed, then stop the Apex controller service before installing or upgrading P9000 Performance Advisor HA. Current Status: Fix is being investigated, no ETA as of P9000 Performance Advisor v5.4 release date.
• If you configure an alarm with multiple email addresses using a previous version of P9000 Performance Advisor, and later you upgrade to P9000 Performance Advisor v5.4, the Alarm screen displays the previously configured email addresses but does not allow you to edit the alarm. However, the email is sent to all the email addresses configured using P9000 Performance Advisor.
