6. Enter the port number that the host agent must use to communicate with the management station.
7. Press Enter to confirm the details and begin the installation.
The installation wizard installs the P9000 Performance Advisor OVMS host agent in the following
location: SYS$COMMON:[HEWLETTPACKARD.P9000HOSTSW]
Completing the OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent installation
The P9000 Performance Advisor OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent is installed according to the
selected settings. After the installation is complete, the host agent services start.
P9000 Performance Advisor OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent post-installation steps
The following P9000 Performance Advisor OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent services start:
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Hostagent
HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Realtime Server

You can also verify that the host agent log file is created, by typing the following command at the
prompt: set def SYS$COMMON:[HEWLETTPACKARD.P9000HOSTSW.HOSTAGENT.LOG]
The name of the log file is prefixed with the date and time, that is,
yyyy-MM-dd_hh-mm-ss_PerformanceAdvisorXP.log. For example,
2009-09-16_09-22-08_PerformanceAdvisorXP.log
NOTE:
The PerformanceAdvisorXP.log file cannot be opened when the host agent and realtime
services are active on an OpenVMS Integrity Server (IA-64) host. To view the log file, stop the services,
navigate to the hostagent/log/ folder, and then open the PerformanceAdvisorXP.log file.

After the installation, return to the installation checklist to complete the remaining tasks specified in
the checklist. For more information, see Table 2 on page 16.
Confirming the P9000 Performance Advisor OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent services
To confirm whether the P9000 Performance Advisor OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent services
have started, type the following command at the system prompt:
show queue
The following output must be displayed:
