If the UNIX host agent or real-time service does not start automatically, type the following commands
at the prompt to manually start the host agent and real-time services:
• /opt/xppa/hostagent/sbin/xppa start
• /opt/xppa/realtime/xpparealtime start
Installing the P9000 Performance Advisor OpenVMS Integrity
Server host agents
This section describes the procedure of installing the P9000 Performance Advisor OpenVMS Integrity
Server host agents. The installation process is described under the following topics:

Executing the OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent installer
IMPORTANT:
• Before you begin the installation, use P9000Info to verify that the connectivity to the command
device is established. For more information, see “Verifying host agent connectivity to a command
device” on page 41.
• Ensure that the TCP/IP services are running on the OpenVMS host.
• The JRE v1.6.0–2.p1 is bundled along with the OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent software.
• RAID Manager Library is not required for the installation of the host agent software.
• Download the OVMS Host agent (XPPA_HA_OVMS_IA64.tar) tar file from the P9000 Perform-
ance Advisor support page, untar it, and then transfer the host agent (HP-I64VMS-P9000HA-
V0504--1.PCSI) file to host
To run the OpenVMS Integrity Server host agent installer:
1. Log into the OpenVMS host as a "system-user".
2. Navigate to the tmp directory or to the folder where you copied the
HP-I64VMS-P9000HAV0504--1.PCSI file.
3. At the prompt, enter product install p9000ha to begin the installation.
The installation script displays a series of prompts. Respond to these prompts as appropriate for
your environment.
4. Click Y to continue.
5. Enter a valid IPv4 address of the management station.
Ensure that both the P9000 Performance Advisor and host agent uses the same protocol, IPv4,
to communicate. Also, configure the HTTP port that the host agent must use to communicate with
P9000 Performance Advisor.
NOTE:
The IPv6 address format is not supported.
