7. If not already done, install P9000Info on your host to verify that the connectivity to the command
device is established. For more information, see Verifying host agent connectivity to a command
device.
IMPORTANT:
You must create and assign a command device from an XP or a P9000 disk array to your
host agent. If not yet created, the corresponding RAID Manager Library version will not be
displayed in the Host Information table when you request for a host agent update after the

8. Install or upgrade the P9000 Performance Advisor host agents on the respective operating system
hosts.
• If you are installing the P9000 Performance Advisor Windows, UNIX, or OpenVMS host
agents, see the following sections:

IMPORTANT:
Before proceeding with the installation or upgrade, ensure the following:
• You have completed all the prerequisites for installing or upgrading the P9000 Performance Advisor
host agents you just downloaded. If you want to review the prerequisites again, see Table 2 and
Table 12.
• You are installing or upgrading to the appropriate version of the host agent, as the host agent
version should match with the version of P9000 Performance Advisor installed on your management
station.
