NOTE:

For additional database operations, HP recommends that 50 GB of free space be available on

the drive where the P9000 Performance Advisor database (PADB) will be installed.

• For information on the maximum size configured for Oracle related files, see Table 6 and Table

• Ethernet LAN card connected to the network

• VGA graphics display with 256 colors (21-inch SVGA graphics display with 32-bit graphics inter-

face is recommended)

NOTE:

P9000 Performance Advisor installation is also supported on the Quad-core servers.

Software

Your management station must meet the following software requirements:

• Windows operating system compatible with P9000 Performance Advisor.

For the list of supported Windows operating systems, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Perfor mance

Advisor Software OS Support Matrix. This document also specifies the Windows operating systems

that are supported as guest operating platforms on the VMware ESX, Citrix XEN, and Microsoft

Hyper-V virtual servers.

• Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 or later. If the installation wizard detects that the Microsoft .NET

Framework v2.0 or later version does not exist, it displays a message that the required version is

not available. Click OK on the message dialog box for the installation wizard to install Microsoft

.NET Framework v3.5 (recommended version) on your management station.

• Before proceeding with the installation, verify whether existing applications on the management

station support other Oracle database instances to be installed. P9000 Performance Advisor

cannot coexist with applications that do not allow different application-specific Oracle database

instances to coexist. For example, HP Storage Essentials does not allow another Oracle database

instance to be installed on the same system. For more information, see the application-specific

documentation.

If multiple Oracle database instances can coexist, ensure that they are not named PADB, as it

conflicts with the same name (PADB) provided for the P9000 Performance Advisor Oracle database.

Web browser

P9000 Performance Advisor is supported on Microsoft Internet Explorer only. For the list of supported

IE versions, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software OS Support Matrix.

NOTE:

• You can access P9000 Performance Advisor locally on your management station or remotely from

another system.

• Configure your IE browser to allow pop-ups, so that P9000 Performance Advisor functions properly.
