For optimal performance, HP recommends that you install P9000 Performance Advisor as a standalone

Management station prerequisites

This section describes the prerequisites that you must complete for installing P9000 Performance

Advisor on a management station.

After you complete the prerequisites, start the P9000 Performance Advisor installation. For more

information, see “Installing the P9000 Performance Advisor” on page 43.

• Verifying the supported configurations for P9000 Performance Advisor

• Getting the fully qualified domain name or IP address of your management station

• Determining the authentication type for P9000 Performance Advisor

• Allocating 1 GB free disk space in the TEMP folder

• Configuring a Loopback Adapter or static IP address

• Assigning ports for P9000 Performance Advisor on the management station

• Configuring the web browser proxy server settings

Verifying the supported configurations for P9000 Performance Advisor

To install P9000 Performance Advisor, verify that you have the supported configurations for:

• Hardware

• Software

• Web browser

• Firmware

Hardware

Your management station must meet the following hardware requirements:

• DVD drive

• Intel Pentium or AMD Athlon based systems - 3.0 GHz CPU (minimum) or later for complex con-

figuration and multiple disk arrays

For multi-core processor based systems - 2.0 GHz CPU or later

• 2 GB RAM (minimum), 4 GB RAM for complex configuration, and multiple XP and P9000 disk

arrays

• For information on the recommended free space, see Table 5.
