Windows host agent upgrade
To upgrade the P9000 Performance Advisor Windows host agent:
1. Unzip the host agent .tar file (XPPA_HA_WINDOWS_32.tar) using the WinZip or the WinRAR
tool.
2. Run the setup.exe file.
The Welcome screen appears.
3. Click Next.
The Ready to Upgrade the Program screen appears.
4. Click Next.
5. During the upgrade process, you will be prompted to confirm the removal of RAID Manager
Library, click Yes.
NOTE:
The RAID Manager Library is shipped along with the installer for the P9000 Performance Advisor
Windows host agent.
The Setup Completed Successfully screen appears, indicating the completion of the upgrade
process.
After the upgrade, verify that the P9000 Performance Advisor Windows host agent services have
started. Additionally, you must complete the remaining post-installation prerequisites and tasks
for using P9000 Performance Advisor. For more information, see P9000 Performance Advisor
Windows host agent post-installation steps on page 79.
UNIX host agent upgrade
For UNIX host agent upgrade, see “Installing the P9000 Performance Advisor UNIX host
agents” on page 80.
Verifying the P9000 Performance Advisor host agents upgrade
To verify the host agent upgrade process:
1. Launch P9000 Performance Advisor.
2. Click Array View in the left pane.
3. Select Arrays.
4. Go to the Host Information tab.
5. Select the upgraded host entry and request a host update to view the updated RMLIB and host
agent versions.

After the host agents appear in the Host Information table, start collecting the configuration and
performance data for your XP and P9000 disk arrays. For more information, see “Using P9000
