Removing the P9000 Performance Advisor management station
WARNING!
Removing P9000 Performance Advisor also deletes the database completely from the management
station. If you want to retain a copy of the database, click Cancel when prompted during the
un-installation process. Then, take a backup of the database using the Backup utility (click Start >
Programs > HP StorageWorks > Backup Utility). After the data backup is complete, resume the
un-installation process. For information on using the Backup utility, see the

NOTE:
• Ignore the following error message that is displayed when you click Cancel on the dialog box.
Fatal error during un-installation.
• Ensure that 1 GB free space is available in the management station’s TEMP folder. (TEMP folder
here refers to the folder defined by the user or system environment variable named TEMP).
To remove the P9000 Performance Advisor management station:
1. From the Control Panel in Windows, click Add/Remove Programs.
2. Click HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor v5.3.1.
3. Click Uninstall.
4. Click OK on the dialog box that appears to proceed with the un-installation.
5. You are prompted to confirm whether you want to take a backup of the current P9000 Performance
Advisor database.
6. Click OK if you do not want to take the backup. The existing database is completely removed
from the management station.
If you want to retain a copy of the database, click Cancel on the dialog box. Then, take a backup
of the database using the Backup utility (click Start > Programs > HP StorageWorks > Backup
Utility). After the data backup is complete, resume the un-installation process. For information on

Post removal instructions
Complete the following steps to remove the HPSS and PADB folders from the management station:
1. Navigate to the HPSS folder and delete the folder.
2. Navigate to the PADB folder and delete the folder.

P9000 Performance Advisor v5.3.1 includes the following fix:
The outband mode of configuration data collection no longer fails for a P9500 Disk Array when the
V03 firmware is installed on the disk array and external storage volumes are configured in the disk
array.
