HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.3.1 Release Notes (T1789-96335, November 2011)
Removing the P9000 Performance Advisor host agent
NOTE:
If the Storage Area Manger 3.3 host agent is also installed on the same host as the P9000 Performance
Advisor host agent, remove the P9000 Performance Advisor host agent before removing the Storage
Area Manager host agent. Removing the Storage Area Manager host agent first might lead to the
removal of some P9000 Performance Advisor components.
Removing a Windows host agent
To remove the Windows host agents, complete the following steps:
1. At the host, select Start > Run, type appwiz.cpl, and press the Enter key.
2. Select HP StorageWorks P9000 <ver> Host Agent Installer to remove the existing version of the
host agent. The installer informs you that a system reboot is required after the host agent is re-
moved.
3. Click OK to proceed or click Cancel. The installer starts gathering the required information. This
might take few minutes. The installer then prompts you to remove the RAID Manager Library
functions.
4. Click Yes to remove the RAID Manager Library.
If the RAID Manager Library functions are being shared by some other application, click No to
retain it.
5. After the host agent is un-installed, the corresponding host agent record is still visible on the
P9000 Performance Advisor's Host Information screen. Click Remove Host to manually remove
the host agent record from the management station. After the host agent records are removed,
the management station will not receive any communication from the respective hosts. For inform-
ation on removing host agent records, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor
Software 5.3 User Guide. For document download location, see “Related documenta-
tion” on page 11.
Removing a UNIX host agent
To remove the UNIX host agents, complete the following steps:
1. Telnet to the remote host as root.
2. Navigate to the tmp directory.
3. Untar the host agent .tar file by entering:
tar -xvf hostagent_<os_name>.tar
4. Run the un-install script by entering:
unix_local_uninstall.sh
Before running the scripts, ensure that you have execution permission (using chmod a+x *) for
all the scripts you execute.
5. You are prompted to verify the removal of the RAID Manager Library component. Select Y, in
UNIX to remove the shared components.
