HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.3 Release Notes (T1789-96324, July 2011)
3. Start the P9000 Performance Advisor host agent and real-time services.
a. Go to the Services dialog box.
b. Right-click HP P9000 Performance Advisor Hostagent.
c. Click Start in the pop-up window.
Similarly, start the HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Realtime Server service.
• When the response time from an XP or a P9000 (P9500) disk array is high (for example, around
3700 read I/Os with each taking close to 10 milliseconds), use a shorter performance data col-
lection frequency (around 2 minutes) in P9000 Performance Advisor.
• Do not use an apostrophe (') in the host group name, as P9000Watch does not support it.
• When you remove P9000 Performance Advisor on a management station, the contents of the C:\
windows\system32\config\Oracle directory does not get removed. So, re-installation fails.
Workaround: Delete the C:\windows\system32\config\Oracle directory before re-installing
P9000 Performance Advisor on the management station.
• On certain systems, occasionally, the P9000 Performance Advisor security and tomcat services
do not start after an installation. It is because the msvcr71.dll file that is required for these
services to start is not located in the system search path.
Workaround: If the Performance Advisor security and tomcat services does not start after an install-
ation, reboot the server. If the problem persists, contact HP support.
• P9000Sketch does not support the .csv files generated using P9000Watch in the CLI mode.
• When performance data collection is initiated, it is observed on a few occasions that the Critical
status icon appears indicating that the collection failed. Also, the Event Log shows an incorrect
message that the collection failed.
Ignore them if they appear even before the collection completes for the specified frequency and
wait for another round of data collection to be completed.
• “All Report type” for RTF format does not work. Use one of the following formats: PDF/HTML/Docx.
