HP StorageWorks P9000 Performance Advisor Software v5.2 Release Notes (T1789-96318, August 2011)

Also, for every port associated with a host group, you can view the aggregate of the average I/Os
from each LDEV through that port. Similarly, you can view the average I/Os for each individual LDEV.
Easy access to ports in the Charts - Frontend component selection tree
The components selection under the Frontend main category in Charts is now rearranged. You can
first access the ports and then drill down further to access other related components, such as CHAs
and MPs:
For the XP disk arrays: Front-end >Port (component type) > Individual ports > Individual MPs >
Individual CHAs
For the P9000 (P9500) disk arrays: Front-end >Port (component type) > Individual ports > Indi-
vidual CHAs
Supporting FCoE port type in XP and P9000 disk arrays
P9000 Performance Advisor will now collect data for XP and P9000 (P9500) disk arrays, which have
FCoE ports configured. The FCoE port type is displayed next to the corresponding port ID.
The LUND, LUNH, and ExportDB command outputs in CLUI also display the FCoE port type for the
corresponding port ID.
Installing Oracle patches and security updates for P9000 Performance Advisor
v5.2
You can now install the latest patches and security features for the Oracle instance in P9000
Performance Advisor v5.2. This patch update is required if you want to meet the security compliance
standards of Oracle within your organization. You must use only the Oracle patch installer provided
with P9000 Performance Advisor.
IMPORTANT:
Oracle patches can be installed only for the Oracle instance in P9000 Performance Advisor v5.2.
Viewing Combined Backend Transfers for ThP pools in P9500 and XP24000
Disk Arrays
In Thin Provisioned environments, P9000 Performance Advisor uses a new metric called the Combined
Backend Transfer metric to report the overall backend transfers at the RAID group and ACP or DKA
levels. For a ThP V-Vol where the ThP pool is associated with multiple RAID groups, the backend
transfers are not tracked to the corresponding RAID group level. The backend transfers contributed
by all the V-Vols in a ThP pool are combined and reported as the Combined Backend Transfer metric
for each participating RAID group. Similarly, when a ThP pool consists of pool volumes from multiple
ACPs or DKAs, the backend transfers contributed by all the V-Vols in a ThP pool are reported as the
Combined Backend Transfer metric for each participating ACP or DKA.
Collecting data from authentication-enabled resource groups in P9500 Disk Ar-
rays
P9000 Performance Advisor supports the P9000 (P9500) disk array V02 firmware feature, where it
can collect configuration and performance data from authentication-enabled resource groups in P9500
Disk Arrays.
