Windows precautions
The user who performs the update must be a member of the Administrator group.
Linux precautions
Root permissions are necessary to perform the update.
Update procedure for Windows
1. Confirm that the currently installed Replication Manager server is one of the applicable product
versions listed in "Prerequisites."
2. Stop the following services:
The services of HP XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite products
HP XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Common Component
For instructions to stop services, see the HP XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite
Software Administrator Guide.
3. Execute the patch on the target machine.
The Self-Extractor dialog box opens.
4. Click the Install button.
If requirements are satisfied, a dialog box prompts you to confirm the update.
5. Click the Update button to continue.
6. Start the following services:
HP XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Common Component
The services of HP XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite products

Update procedure for Linux
1. Confirm that the currently installed Replication Manager server is one of the applicable product

2. Stop the following services:

3. On the target machine, create a working directory and change move to the directory as follows:
[/]# mkdir /tmp/work
[/]# cd /tmp/work
4. Copy the Linux update package to the working directory.
Perform all subsequent steps as a superuser.
5. Restore the update package using the gunzip and tar commands.
In the following example, the file patch.tar.gz is in the /tmp/ working directory.
[/tmp/work/]# gunzip /tmp/patch.tar.gz
[/tmp/work/]# tar xvf /tmp/patch.tar
x UPDATE, ***** bytes, ** tape blocks
x PRODUCT.INI, ***** bytes, ** tape blocks
