HP P9000 Tiered Storage Manager Software Update 7.2.0-03 Release Notes (TB585-96026, March 2012)

Enhancements
Enhancements made in 7.2.0-03
Tiered Storage Manager corresponds to Device Manager 7.2.0-03.
Fixes
Corrections made in 7.2.0-03
For THP volumes made up of SSDs, the following problems that occurred in the Mobility tab were
corrected:
The Used % bar was not displayed for SSDs.
Used Capacity was not displayed for SSDs.
Used Capacity was not displayed for SSDs in the Edit Tiering Policy dialog box.
Though a data migration might not succeed according to the storage system, Tiered Storage
Manager could not detect the issue.
For example, an issue occurred with an external volume path during a write I/O of 50 or more
IOPS.
As a result, the following symptoms occurred:
Symptom 1: A data migration task did not finish and data migration did not make progress.
In addition, a task including the data migration did not finish.
Symptom 2: You could not cancel the task in which Symptom 1 occurred through the Tiered
Storage Manager GUI.
Symptom 3: After rebooting the P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite, the task in
which Symptom 1 occurred did not produce an error.
When specifying the data deletion (shredding) option for a migration source THP volume in an
XP24000/XP20000 disk array and performing its data migration, the shredding step completed
but an error message might have appeared and the volume might not have been deleted. If this
occurred, you had to manually delete the shredded source volume.
However, the restriction still exists that the deletion of the source THP volume within approximately
40 minutes after the migration completes may not succeed when using the Legacy mode Tiered
Storage Manager and Tiered Storage Manager CLI.
In the Tiered Storage Manager GUI, you could not migrate an MF volume whose emulation type
was 3390-A in a P9500 disk array. In the Tiered Storage Manager GUI in Legacy mode, if you
selected a volume whose emulation type was 3390-A as the migration source or the migration
target volume on the Migrate MG screen, the icon indicating that the execution was unavailable
appeared.
The Migratable column might show Yes even though migrating volumes were unavailable.
If you allocated or created volumes, an internal error (KAIC15001E) occurred. If you registered
storage systems in Device Manager, all the volumes did not appear in the storage system registered
to the Device Manager because of the internal error.
