HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Software Update 7.2.0-03 Release Notes (TB581-96306, March 2012)
Fixes
Corrections made in 7.2.0-02
• When HITACHI_StorageVolume or HITACHI_ThinProvisioningPool was created with the
CIM/WBEM function, it generated error code 5100.
• The KAIC16993-E message was displayed in the Allocate Volumes dialog box, the Allocate Like
Volumes dialog box, and the Add Storage dialog box.
Important considerations
XP12000/XP10000 creating multiple volumes at the same time for a CU that has no
volumes allocated to it
In an XP12000/XP10000 disk array, if multiple volumes are created at the same time for a CU that
has no volumes allocated to it, the KAIC06400-E error occurs and the volumes are not created.
First, create one volume for the CU, and after that, create the other volumes.
Upgrade installation and importing a database
A database that is exported in this version cannot be imported to versions of Device Manager 7.2
prior to 7.2.0-02.
If the database is imported, Device Manager does not work.
HP recommends backing up or exporting the database before the upgrade installation.
In addition, after this version is applied, do not perform the overwrite installation by using the media
earlier than P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software 7.2.0-02.
Upgrading Command View Advanced Edition to 7.1.0 or importing Command View
Advanced Edition 7.0.0 database
When either of the following conditions is met, the KAIC16029-E message might appear.
• Command View Advanced Edition 7.0.0 is upgraded to Command View Advanced Edition 7.1.0.
• Command View Advanced Edition 7.1.0 is installed, and then the Command View Advanced
Edition 7.0.0 database is imported.
If this occurs, restart the Device Manager service.
Windows machine with Host Data Collector installed
In a Windows machine, if the recovery is performed by using a backup and recovery product, the
Host Data Collector services do not start.
Do not use a backup and recovery program product in a Windows machine with Host Data Collector
installed.
Creating volumes
In the Create Volumes dialog box, the subscription limit of the pool is not checked when the create
volumes task is registered if the following conditions are met:
• The Create Volumes dialog box is launched after a pool is selected.
• Either of the following pools exist in the storage system.
The subscription limit is set larger than the subscription limit of the selected pool.◦
◦ The subscription limit is not configured.
