CVAE 6.0 to 7.0 Transition Overview (TB581-96076, June 2011)

 The following V6 TSM search conditions for tier configuration need to be replaced with other conditions on V7.0.
 When users migrate Storage Tier that was created in V6.x to V7.0, Storage Tier which includes the above attributes is not
migrated.
 Information about a Storage Tier which cannot be migrated is saved into a file. See the following slides for details.

P-VOL’s MG/
P-VOL’s MU Number

This option is discontinued. Specify Parity Group of P-Vol as an exclusive
condition to exclude same parity group volumes as a target of volume
migration.
Logical Group
Use alternative method.
Use LDEV or Parity Group/Array Group to group intended LDEVs only.

SYSPLEXID/DEVN
No need to specify on V7
TSMgr automatically checks this volume type, and warns customer before
starting actual migration to prevent data corruption.
VOLSER
No need to specify on V7
Any volumes which has VOLSER attribute are excluded automatically.
Port/HSD
Use alternative method.
This option is discontinued. Use “Host” condition instead.
CVS
Use alternative method.
This option is discontinued. Specify “Volume Size” condition instead.
