After a license key is installed in the license information dataset,functions corresponding to the
license you installed become available.
When you migrate Business Continuity Manager from an older version to a newer version,
depending on conditions, you might need to obtain the license keys again.
Table 1 (page 8) lists the licenses provided by Business Continuity Manager and functions available
for each license.

The length of time you can use Business Continuity Manager depends on the type of installed
license. Table 2 (page 8) lists the license types.

Prerequisite conditions
This section describes the prerequisites for using Business Continuity Manager.
Operating system prerequisites
Business Continuity Manager can be used on the following operating systems:
• z/OS V1R10 to V1R13
NOTE:
• The above versions of z/OS are supported as guests in z/VM environments. For details about
operating conditions and other information, contact the product vendor. Note that z/VM
environments do not support HTTPS communications.
• The devices in the alternate subchannel set are not supported.
