HP XP P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software Installation Guide

For a job that starts Business Continuity Manager agent, set the UNIX service’s usage attributes
(open a port for receiving). For details, refer to the Communications Server: IP Configuration
Reference.
Set the port number in the TCP/IP environment settings file (PROFILE.TCPIP profile, the definition
file related to server functions in the TCP/IP address space).
In the PORT definition of the PROFILE.TCPIP profile, specify the member name, or identification
name, of the Business Continuity Manager agent start job. For details about the identification name,
see the chapter that describes Business Continuity Manager agent startup in the HP XP P9000 for
Business Continuity Manager Software User Guide.
For the port number to be used by the YKAGENT job, you cannot specify a number that is already
being used by another job. Specify a port number that is not being used in the system.
Example of specifying the port number:
The following specification sets the port number as 24042:
24042 TCP YKAGENT ;YKAGENT START NAME
NOTE: The Business Continuity Manager agent requires two sockets of IBM Communications
Server (OS standard equipment). Make sure that the total number of sockets does not exceed the
maximum number of sockets that IBM Communications Server can provide, keeping in mind the
number of sockets required for other services that IBM Communications Server handles. For details
about the maximum number of sockets that IBM Communications Server can provide, see the
Communications Server IP Configuration Guide.
Setting up the security for Business Continuity Manager agents
This section describes how to set the security.
Setting the dataset security
When a Business Continuity Manager agent is linked to XP P9000 Replication Manager, the
Business Continuity Manager agent job references Business Continuity Manager's configuration
files. Therefore, be sure to grant the Business Continuity Manager agent job READ permission for
the configuration files that are accessed by the Business Continuity Manager agent job. The names
of the configuration files to which READ permission is to be granted are the following datasets
which have their prefixes specified in Business Continuity Manager's Set Defaults panel.
Disk configuration definition file
Copy group definition file
Route list definition file
Command device definition file
To create or update the copy group definition from XP P9000 Replication Manager, grant WRITE
permission for the datasets listed below to the Business Continuity Manager agent job. For details
on dataset names, see “Creating configuration file datasets” (page 53).
Disk configuration definition file
Copy group definition file
Temporary disk configuration definition file

Setting up the Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) when linking with XP P9000
Replication Manager
To enable Business Continuity Manager agent communications, set an environment for the security
program (RACF).
