HP XP P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software Installation Guide

1. Configure the environment settings for the Business Continuity Manager agent. For details,
see the following sections:
“Setting the TCP/IP port number” (page 54)
“Setting up the security for Business Continuity Manager agents” (page 55)
“Setting up IBM HTTP Server” (page 56)
“Creating initialization parameters” (page 61)
“Creating a cataloged procedure for startup for the Business Continuity Manager agents
(page 72)
2. Start IBM HTTP Server.
3. Start the Business Continuity Manager agent. For details, see the chapter about linking the
BCM agent with XP P9000 Replication Manager in the HP XP P9000 for Business Continuity
Manager Software User Guide.
4. Configure the XP P9000 Replication Manager initialization settings. For details, see the HP
XP P9000 Replication Manager User Guide.
Configuring the environment settings for monitoring PPRC copy pairs
To monitor PPRC copy pairs from XP P9000 Replication Manager, you must create a PPRC copy
group definition file with BCM before you configure the environment settings for the BCM agent.
For details, see the description about generating PPRC copy pair copy group definitions in the HP
XP P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software User Guide.
Creating configuration file datasets
Before doing anything else, you must first create datasets for the following configuration files, which
are created in XP P9000 Replication Manager. You must then catalog the created datasets.
Disk configuration definition file
Copy group definition file
The following indicates the time at which each configuration file is created.
Disk configuration definition file: When a device is scanned (for example, during a Local
Scan, NGScan, or Remote Scan).
Copy group definition file: When a copy group is defined.
Configuration file dataset names
The following lists the naming convention for each dataset:
Disk configuration definition file name:
prefix.DSK.SNnnnnn.DAD-ID
Copy group definition file name:
prefix.GRP.copy-group-ID
