HP P9000 Auto LUN User Guide

CAUTION: When you use mainframe system, you can access only one resource group from a
host. It is recommended that you should specify volumes that are assigned to the resource group
that can be accessed from the host as source volumes and target volumes.

Supported and prohibited source and target volumes
The following list includes volumes and volume types that cannot be used as source or target
volumes for Auto LUN:
System disks
Quorum disks
Volumes being used by the host as command devices
IBM 3390 Concurrent Copy volumes
Volumes reserved by a migration program other than Auto LUN
Volumes undergoing a Quick Format operation
Volumes in an abnormal or inaccessible condition (such as, pinned, tracked, or fenced)
External Storage Access Manager P-VOLs or S-VOLs
Volumes having the Nondisruptive Migration attribute
