HP XP7 Tiered Storage Manager Release Notes (TK985-96001, May 2014)

Device Manager now supports HP XP7 Storage.
The Tiered Storage Manager server, GUI, and CLI now support Microsoft Windows Server 2012
R2 and Microsoft WIndows 8.1.
Tiered Storage Manager now supports a relocation speed adjustment function for Smart Pools of
HP XP7 Storage in the following dialog boxes:
Create Pool dialog box
Edit Pool dialog box
Tiered Storage Manager no longer supports the GUI in Legacy mode.
Fixes
The following issues were resolved in 8.0.0-00:
If you selected a Migrate Volume task and then started the Restart Task dialog box, the
KAIC16981-E message might be displayed.
When a database was restored or migrated, the Status option displayed Applied” in the data
placement profile list, and the Volume Status displayed “Not applied” in the Volumes in Profiles
dialog box, even though both status options should have been “Not applied”.
Important considerations
Tiered Storage Manager GUI no longer supported in Legacy mode
To execute or confirm a task registered from the Tiered Storage Manager GUI in Legacy mode, use
the Tiered Storage Manager CLI.
The number of client windows that can be used at one time
The maximum number of clients that can connect to Device Manager at one time is 16.
If 17 or more clients connect to Device Manager at one time, they may forcibly logged out. In this
case, wait a few minutes, and then log in again.
Filter conditions in the Create Tier dialog box and the Edit Tier dialog box
When you use the Create Tier dialog box or the Edit Tier dialog box, sometimes the filter conditions
cannot be saved, and the following issues might occur:
The KAIC15231-E message is displayed in the GUI, and tiers cannot be created.
The KAIC15239-E message is displayed in the GUI, and tiers cannot be edited.
The KATS50201-E and KATS61103-E* messages are displayed for the CreateStorageTier
command, and tiers cannot be created.
The KATS50221-E and KATS61103-E* messages are displayed for the ModifyStorageTier
command, and tiers cannot be edited.
*The KAIC03016-E message is displayed in the KATS61103-E message.
If an error occurs, shorten the character length of the filter condition.
To save a filter condition that uses two-byte characters in the name, enter the two-byte characters (no
more than 16 characters) in the Edit Storage Systems dialog box.
Temporary shortcut folder after installation or removal (in Windows)
After an installation or removal, a temporary shortcut folder named "programs" might be created
under the Windows Start menu. After you log off and log on to Windows, this temporary shortcut
folder no longer appears.
