Version 8.0.0-00 Description This is the initial release of HP XP7 Replication Manager 8.0.0-00. For details, see “Enhancements” (page 3). For previous behaviors resolved in this release, see “Fixes” (page 4). Update recommendation HP recommends updating to Command View Advanced Edition 8.0.0-00. Superseded version 7.6.1-02 Product models HP XP7 Replication Manager 8.0.
Fixes The following issues were resolved in 8.0.0-00: • An attempt to change the copy group name or path group ID might generate the RPM-03301 error message. • For a copy pair that consists of open volumes, executing a copy-pair operation task without specifying quick mode now succeeds, and the KAVN00455-E message and KAVN00456-E message are no longer output.
Java Development Kit 1.8.0 When the hcmds64chgjdk command is executed, the following options are displayed: . • "Use Java Development Kit 1.8.0" This option is not supported. • "Set the installation path to a Java Development Kit." Specifying the path to the installed JDK8 is not supported. Naming the Fast Snap snapshot group When you create a Fast Snap snapshot group, you can use the following characters in the name of the Snapshot Group: • 0-9 • A-Z • a-z • : (colon) • - (hyphen) • .
1. 2. Generate and execute the replacement tasks to replace half of the secondary volumes of the Continuous Access Synchronous or XP7 Continuous Access Journal copy pair. Generate and execute the replacement tasks for the other half of the secondary volumes not replaced in step 1.
For tasks that generated an error: • 1 Execute tasks again that you need to complete after editing the failed tasks so that they are not executed simultaneously. Each task internally completes successfully or unsuccessfully, depending on the order of the execution. 2 Multiple tasks that set the copy pair status do not cause this behavior because one of the tasks reserves the copy pair.
Adding a copy pair to an XP Business Copy, Snapshot, or Fast Snap copy group Occurrence condition If you add the copy pair to an XP Business Copy, Snapshot, or Fast Snap copy group, the task might generate the KAVN00469-E (RPM-03327) message when all of the following conditions are met: 1. A copy group exists that meets both of the following conditions: • • 2. 3. 4. 5. The copy type is one of following, and Assign CTG for At-Time Split is not set.
If you select a task for which Assign CTG for At-Time Split is not set in the Pair Operation options, and then open the Edit Task dialog box, access the Pair Setting tab before you click the OK button in the Edit Task dialog box. Changing the WWN or iSCSIName for a pair management server If you change the WWN or iSCSIName for a pair management server, the server name might not be displayed in the Server Name list displayed after you created a group.
Operations on the mainframe system • restore Regarding copy groups maintaining their consistency, if you use a tool other than Replication Manager to perform a swap operation or takeover (Reverse Resync) operation for either only the copy group on the open system or only the copy group on the mainframe system, you cannot use Replication Manager to manage the relevant copy group. InPrivate Browsing in Internet Explorer 9.0 During InPrivate Browsing Mode, the browsing history might remain in the browser.
Temporary shortcut folder after installation or removal (in Windows) After an installation or removal, a temporary shortcut folder named "programs" might be created under the Windows Start menu. After you log off and log on to Windows, this temporary shortcut folder no longer appears.
