2 Setting up Replication Manager
This chapter explains how to set up and configure Replication Manager.
Overview
This section is an overview that lists all the tasks that need to be performed.
To set up and configure Replication Manager:
1. Before installing Replication Manager, you must back up the databases of other HP XP7 Command
View AE products in use, on the management server where Replication Manager is installed. For
details about how to back up databases, see the application product manuals.
2. Set up the necessary infrastructure as described in Setting up the prerequisite
environment on page 50.
3. For a cluster environment, follow the appropriate procedure in the HP XP7 Command View
Advanced Edition Installation and Configuration Guide before installing Replication Manager.
NOTE:
After installing or updating Replication Manager, you must back up the new configuration data.
Concerning upgrade installations
If you are currently using Replication Manager v6.x or v7.x, you can upgrade to v8.x. For details
about the upgrade installation procedure, see the HP XP7 Command View Edition Installation Guide.
When the upgrade is complete, consult the items that follow.
Items to be checked after upgrading Replication Manager
The upgrade changes certain command names and default installation folders. If you created any
scripts that use the the command names or file paths shown in Table 26 or Table 27, you should make
the changes indicated.
