2. Change the URL information for starting Device Manager to support SSL communication.
Change the port number in the URL to the port number that was set in step 1. For details on
how to change the port number, see section
2-5 .
3. Execute the HP SIM certificate management command to import the HP SIM certificate to
Common Component.
Execute the HP SIM certificate management command as a user who has Administrator
permissions or as a root user.
The HP SIM certificate management command is as follows:
In Windows:
installation-folder-for-Common-Component\bin\hcmdshpsimcert /import
/host host-name-of-HP-SIM-server
In Linux:
installation-directory-for-Common-Component/bin/hcmdshpsimcert -
import -host host-name-of-HP-SIM-server
CAUTION:
For host-name-of-HP-SIM-server, you can specify a logical host name or an IP address.
To obtain a certificate from an HP SIM that you can communicate with using IPv6, you must be able to
communicate via IPv6 with the host specified in the host option.
4. Register the URL of Device Manager in HP SIM.
Add the definition file CVXPAE_HPSIMTool.xml of the Device Manager tool to HP SIM. The
CVXPAE_HPSIMTool.xml file is stored in the location shown below. To use this file, transfer
the file to the HP SIM server.
In Windows:
installation-folder-for-the-Device-Manager-
server\Server\config\CVXPAE_HPSIMTool.xml
In Linux:
installation-directory-for-the-Device-Manager-
server/Server/config/CVXPAE_HPSIMTool.xml
CAUTION: Assume that, in step 1, you set a port other than 23016 as the SSL communication
port of HBase Storage Mgmt Web Service. In that case, before adding CVXPAE_HPSIMTool.xml
to HP SIM, change the part indicating 23016 in CVXPAE_HPSIMTool.xml to the port number
you set.
Execute the following command to add CVXPAE_HPSIMTool.xml to HP SIM:
installation-directory-for-HP-SIM/bin/mxtool -af definition-file-path-
of-the-tool
NOTE: For details about how to use the mxtool command, see the HP SIM documentation.
5. Using the GUI of HP SIM, detect the management server on which the Device Manager server
was installed.
If the management server has already been detected, you need not perform this step. For
details on detection, see the HP Systems Insight Manager Installation and Configuration
Guide.
