HP StorageWorks P9000 Replication Manager Software 7.1 Configuration Guide (TB584-96022, May 2011)

The services associated with Application Agent are normally started and stopped automatically on
the database or backup server where the agent is installed. Should you need to start or stop them
manually, use the commands described in the sections that follow (Administrator privileges are
required).
Copy Controller service
To start or stop the Copy Controller service, launch the service screen of Computer Management
(Windows Server 2003) or Server Manager (Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2)
and start or stop the Protection Manager Service.
Common Agent Service
To stop and start the Common Agent Service, use the following commands:
P9000-Command-View-AE-Common-Agent-Component-installation-folder\bin\
hbsasrv.exe start
TIP:
After installing Application Agent, if the Copy Controller service or the Common Agent Service is
Disabled, change the setting to Automatic.
The Common Agent Service is used by other agent programs (such as Device Manager Agent). When
you stop Common Agent Service, you should determine whether or not the operation of other agents
is affected.
Setting error logging options for Application Agent
The agent.logger.properties file is used to specify the values of log output-related properties.
The file is stored in the following location:
C:\P9000-Command-View-AE-Common-Agent-Component-installation-folder\agent\
config\
If a value is not specified in the agent.logger.properties file or if the specified value is outside
the specifiable range, the default value is used.
The following tables list the available properties and the types of information logged.
