Changing Application Agent port numbers
TIP:
The port number used for communication between Application Agent instances (backup and database
servers) can be changed during Application Agent setup (the default is 22300). If this port number
has already been used, you must register the port number into the Windows Services file as
DRMVSSServer.
You can change the port numbers used by the Agent daemon, the API response process, and
communication with the API response process, by editing the server.properties file on the
backup and database servers. The file is stored in the following location.
For 32-bit Windows:
%ProgramFiles%\HDVM\HBaseAgent\config\server.properties
For 64-bit Windows:
%ProgramFiles(x86)%\HDVM\HBaseAgent\config\server.properties
The properties and default values are listed in the following table.
Table 27 Port numbers in server.properties file
PurposeDefault value (port number)Property
Port number for the Common agent
daemon process (service).
24041
server.agent.port
Port number for the communication
between the Common agent dae-
mon process and the web server
process.
24042
server.http.port
Port number for Common agent
Web server.
24043
server.http.localPort
Note the following:
Acceptable port number values are 1-65535.
Avoid using small port numbers because such numbers might conflict with other applications.
The port numbers set in the server.properties file must be unique and cannot be shared by
any other processes.
After changing these values, the Common Agent Service must be restarted.
Starting and stopping the Application Agent Services
To use Replication Manager to perform a backup, the Application Agent Services must be running
on both the database server and the backup server. Also, the user account of the user executing the
Application Agent Services on a server must have local Administrator permissions and must have the
Log on as a service right. Users with the Log on as a service right refers to users with a security policy
in which Log on as a service right is enabled and Deny log on as a service is disabled.
