Command line interface for P9000 RAID Manager
Note the following precautions regarding using the P9000 RAID Manager command line interface:
Do not use the P9000 RAID Manager command line interface while carrying out replica operations
from Replication Manager.
If you use the P9000 RAID Manager command line interface to change a copy pair configuration,
be sure and refresh the system from Device Manager, followed by updating the pair configuration
and refreshing the hosts from Replication Manager.
Protection function of P9000 RAID Manager
Application Agent does not support the protection function of P9000 RAID Manager. This function
should be disabled on servers where Application Agent is installed.
Using P9000 RAID Manager to configure pair volumes
Within a copy group, only include the pair volumes for one application. If the pair volumes of multiple
applications are mixed together in one copy group, unintended backups and restorations might occur.
Device Manager and P9000 RAID Manager
For P9000 RAID Manager to be started on the database and/or backup servers automatically, Device
Manager Agent needs to be installed on both servers.
NOTE:
When using Device Manager Agent on VMware 4.x, it is necessary to confirm the prerequisite
combination of Device manager server and Device Manager Agent. Even if you use Device Manager
and the Device Manager Agent for which the prior prerequisite combination has been confirmed,
the following precaution must be noted:
If the target volume is set as a command device on the virtual machine, by using Add CMD
Devices, the virtualization server needs to be restarted in order to recognize the set command
device.
